Remember when
Say it like it already happened.
Instead of wishing for the thing, you remember it. Past tense, out loud, like you are telling a friend about something that happened to you. Your body does not check the date. When you say remember when, you stop straining toward the life and relax into having it, and the feeling you were actually after shows up today.
How this works
Wishing keeps the thing at a distance, because a wish says it is not here yet. A memory says it is yours. Speak it in past tense with real details, the room, the dress, the money you did not count, the way you carried yourself. Then the book remembers it back to you, longer and warmer, and you can record yourself reading it out loud so you can hear it in your own voice whenever you want.
You can come back to this every day with the same memory. Repetition is not begging, it is getting used to it.
